SYNOPSIS
Gripping historical drama series set in the radiant Vienna of the Fin de Siècle—then the metropolis of the world. The story unfolds from the glamorous era through the turbulent times of both World Wars. In six one-hour episodes per season, the series takes the audience on a journey through the authentic life of Berta Zuckerkandl, the influential salonnière who established one of Europe’s most significant social and intellectual hubs with her salon in Vienna. The series draws its narrative power from Berta’s captivating life story, allowing viewers to immerse themselves deeply in the late 19th century and the vibrant atmosphere of her salon. At the heart of a time of change and societal upheaval, the series sheds light on the simmering currents of world history, driven by the emerging idea of Germany’s expansionism and Austria’s complex relationship with France, leading to two world wars that shook the world.
